What's it going to take to change gun laws in America?

Live CNN Cafferty's Question of the Hour.
A new Pew Research poll shows that these mass gun shootings don't change the publics view of gun laws.
To paraphrase Jack; "In light of the recent mass shootings in Aurora Colorado, the Sikh Shooting in Wisconsin, the Virginia Tech massacre, the Giffords shooting, what's it going to take to change gun laws in America?"

or as I heard the question ... "Why is the Blood Waltz not as Effective as in Years Past?"

To answer Cafferty's question ... Seems that persistent, sober work to return God given rights to legal status by dedicated Americans is what changes gun laws. Blood dancing? Not so much anymore.

Frontline's Frothy Fulminations

Let me first say. I enjoy Frontline. For free tv, it's pretty much top shelf. Their latest offering is Money, Power and Wall Street.  It kicked off last night with a double episode.  Ya'll can watch the first two hours online. Two more hours to follow.

It was an in-depth recounting of the Wall Street implosion that we witnessed circa '08.

What I found grating was the soft peddling of the criminality of it all. Not that they avoided it all together. The focus was more on the technical aspects and "How could we have known?" versus "Those Sonsabitches just robbed the Treasury!".

The background info of how BHO was plugged in during the run up to the election was interesting.
They've got extended interviews online as well. Maybe some of the "Gangsta Bankster" sentiment can be found there.

I plan on watching the rest of it. Maybe even rewatching the beginning. Just so I can take names for my list.

Mitt Romney addresses NRA today

July 1, 2004; Mitt signs Massachusetts State Assault Weapons Ban
NRA Life Member since 2006, Mitt will be addressing the NRA convention in person today.
I'm sure that he'll be sayin' things the audience wants to hear.

Do ya feel like you've got no other option?
Do ya trust him more than the "other guy"?

The money quote from a Massachusetts resident, Henry Dane, president of the Concord Rod & Gun Club
"I'm willing to give him a chance on these issues because I think his heart is much closer to being in the right place then the other guy,"

Overall the HuffPo article seems to be written as a COINTELPRO piece written with a smirk, sowing seeds of doubt about the "R" guy. Like ... Where ya gonna go?
Bottomline? I've got no doubts. You can't trust any politician to protect your rights.

Van and Action Day Occupiers

from Time

Rabble Rouser ... there's a catch-phrase from the ages.
Synonym now-a-days for Community Organizer.

Daryl Peveto / LUCEO for TIME
Time this week, begins to reform the Van. Beginning with an evocative portrait.
Statesmanlike in every way. A soft and soapy recap of his Obama stint segues to his current activities.

Photographic proof that the community is being organized.

The Van asks ya to visit his Rebuild the Dream net. Goin' there, the question comes to mind. What exactly is the definition of a collective?

As of this post, the "Day of Action", 11/17/11, by the OWSers, I haven't seen Van on the net. The NYPD kept the 99% Horde from "occupying" the Exchange. We'll see about further action.

WAR!

Just within the 3:00 hour, on the air in Chicago, IL Senator Mark Kirk beats the drum loudly on WLS radio. His reaction to the press conference of FBI, DEA and AG Holder. Kirk's plan? Declare war! Take action to cripple Irans economy.

Ummm... Wow.
That's sure distracting! From the Motley protesters. From Fast 'n Furiousness.
Lemmee see. FBI, DEA, AG Holder.
Y'know thats like seeing all the bad boys hanging around together on the corner.

I'd like to ask them, Where's CIA?
Ain't he usually hanging around with you Choir Boys?
Wag the Dog much, Mr. AG?

Nevermind. I'm sure it's my fevered imagination.
You guys have never lied to me before.
Nevermind that the lunatic fringe broadcasts that use the Imperial March as their bumpers, have been predicting this kind of scenario for years. Just a co-inky-dink I'm sure.

Why should I believe any of this?
The straps on my wookie suit are pinchin' this afternoon. Maybe time for a bigger one.

And Senator Kirk? Can we close down one or two current wars before we open this next one?

Smart (Big Brother) Grid Technology

h/t Old NFO

How many times have ya heard a politician, extolling their bright visions of the future, mention "smart grid technology"?

Have they mentioned how we need it? For better allocation of precious resources?
Did the said pol mention how a "smart grid" tracks your use of juice?
Did they happen to mention that a "smart grid" also allows controlled distribution or rationing of this resource?

Lets say its a hot July afternoon. Your air conditioner has been running full time since 9am. Every home in your neighborhood has been doing the same. Suddenly, at 2pm, the power goes out. Used to be, a power outtage of this sort, indicated an equipment failure somewhere in the distribution network. This is no longer the case. With "smart grid", this is just as likely a decision to ration your power. No more soup for you! Maybe in two hours. Maybe four. We'll see how we feel. You've stressed our system and we're shutting you down for a bit. For everyones good.
Hope you saved that computer work before we threw the switch! Heh!

Attack! Attack! Attack! Watch?

When this meme hit the blogoshpere, I had to check it out. Like other thangs of this nature, I also had to sign up. For the same reason I occasionally listen to some hypocritical drug-abusing syndicated radio talk show hosts. Y'know ... that Sun Tzu admonishment ... "Know your opponent"

Get the "right thinking" facts
First thing I notice ... I'm suddenly getting emails from barackobama.com
The amusing part? They begin with the salutation "Friend-". Isn't that the translation from Russian of "Comrade-"? In this day and age of auto-insertion auto-merging data fields ... they address me as "Friend"?

Knowing that the site is merely a vortex of political spin, I was curious when I saw the link for gun control gossip.
So many attacks! Wheres the love?
So i click through. The issue they wanna address? The attack they're fightin'?
Dateline May 2010
The Global Small Arms Treaty. They name John Bolton (Bush era UN apparatchik) and others as attackers. Their counterargument? Their defense? Barack only wants "common-sense" gun controls.

Nevermind the musty old smell of this whole red herring. They've got much hotter, more germane, treasonous stories to address ignore stonewall.
They be stone tone deaf.
